Paul got things started…
Owner Paul Schneider started working with pizza in 1970, launching his first shop, Fellinis in Providence RI in 1989.
In 2000, he sold Fellinis to his protégé and moved to Maine.
When he decided to open a pizza shop in Bar Harbor, to figure out a name, Paul hit the shuffle button and switched some letters in his old name, and Finelli was born.
Two years of seasonal bustle, and Paul moved again, this time to Ellsworth in 2001 where Finelli’s remains today.
So there is no Mr. Finelli- but if you call Paul that, he’ll answer.
Derrick keeps it going…
When Paul was looking to semi retire, he found Derrick Baker to come on as the business manager and head chef.
Derrick brought his passion for unique flavors and his passion for social justice to continue the Finelli tradition of making sure all customers are well fed and well taken care of.
